This policy covers the Pawcasso app and pawcassoapp.com.
Your paintings and app data
Pawcasso does not require an account and has no advertising or cross-company tracking. The app does not automatically upload your paintings, optional cat names, or settings to us. Automatic updates send the technical information described below.
Saved paintings, their titles and optional cat names, favorites, and app settings are stored locally on your device. They remain there until you remove them or delete the app and its data. You can delete saved paintings from Gallery and clear the optional name for future paintings. A name already included in a saved image remains part of that image.
Automatic updates and technical information
App versions with automatic updates use Expo's EAS Update service to check for compatible fixes when the app starts. A downloaded fix can take effect on a later launch; an update does not force an active painting to reload.
Update requests send Expo a persistent, randomly generated installation identifier, the platform, app runtime and update identifiers, and information about update failures, including crash or error diagnostics. Expo also receives connection information such as your IP address and processes update-service usage information. The installation identifier lets technical records be associated with the same installation; it is not the advertising identifier and does not identify you by name or email.
We and Expo use this information to deliver compatible updates, diagnose failures, maintain security and reliability, and analyze update adoption and service usage. We disclose these uses as app functionality and analytics. This update system is not intended to send paintings, optional cat names, photo-library contents, or audio recordings. Diagnostic messages can contain technical error details.
We do not use this information for advertising, sell it, or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Expo processes the information under its Privacy Policy, including its provisions for service providers, security, legal disclosures, and international processing.
Saving to Photos and sharing
Saving a painting to Photos is optional. On iOS, Pawcasso requests permission to add images to Photos; it does not request access to read your photo library. You can change this permission in your device's Settings. Painting and the local Gallery do not require Photos permission.
Sharing happens only when you choose Share and select a destination in your device's share sheet. The destination you choose receives the exported image, including any name shown on it, and handles it under its own privacy policy. Copies saved to Photos or shared elsewhere are managed separately: deleting a painting from Pawcasso does not delete those copies.
Retention and your choices
Local Gallery data stays on your device until you remove it or delete the app and its data. Deleting a painting, clearing a name, or uninstalling the app does not automatically delete copies in Photos, copies you shared, or technical records already held by Expo.
Expo's Privacy Policy describes retaining information for as long as reasonably necessary for its stated purposes and legal obligations; it does not give a fixed EAS Update retention period. We retain information you send to support only as needed to respond to and resolve your request, comply with applicable legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
There is no in-app switch to turn off automatic update requests. Painting and the local Gallery work offline. Automatic updates do not need camera, microphone, background-audio, or tracking permission. Photos permission controls saving images to Photos, not update requests.
For privacy questions, or to request access to or deletion of personal information, contact support@pawcassoapp.com. We may need additional information to verify and locate a request, especially because the update installation identifier is not automatically linked to your email address, and may need to coordinate with Expo. We handle requests subject to applicable law and any required retention.
This website
This site adds no cookies, analytics, advertising scripts, or tracking embeds. Our website hosting provider processes the connection information needed to serve the site.
Support and contact
If you contact support@pawcassoapp.com, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request. Contact the same address with privacy questions or to request deletion of information you sent to support.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page with a new effective date. Please check back for updates.

This policy is intended to be read in plain English. To the extent any ambiguity exists, the policy will be interpreted in a manner that most protects user privacy, subject to applicable law.
